Matt Pipe

Senior Analyst, Housing Policy & Research

As a Senior Housing Policy and Research Analyst, Matt contributes to SHS's policy and planning, development feasibility, and strategic design work. Utilizing his background of engineering and planning, Matt's role involves performing need and demand assessments, policy analysis and development, case study research, and data analysis.

Prior to joining SHS, Matt worked as a professionally designated civil engineer for multiple consulting engineering firms over five years before undertaking a career change. Matt returned to school to study urban and regional planning and development at Ryerson University and graduated with distinction in 2021. He focused his studies primarily on data analysis, including housing market analysis and needs assessments, and residential development planning.

Current work

Matt is currently working on several projects involving housing needs assessments and affordable housing strategies across Canada.
